Back up, restore, and migrate WordPress — live. 🛡️
EECONS Backup Studio Pro creates complete, portable backups of your WordPress database and files, sends them offsite over encrypted connections, and — new in 0.4 — migrates whole sites directly between two WordPress installs: pair them once, then pull or push a full site in one run, with visitors held on a branded progress page and a safety-first design so your recovery is never held hostage.
Live site-to-site migration
Pair two sites with a Connection Key and migrate directly — pull a site into this one or push this one over another. Signed, checksummed, resumable transfers run in the background while you keep working.
Works behind NAT
The site that starts the migration makes every connection, so a LocalWP or office machine migrates with a live server with zero port forwarding. Sites that can’t connect at all use a relay transfer with a one-time code.
Visitors never see a broken site
During a migration or restore, visitors get a branded progress page with a live percentage and countdown — never a half-restored site or a blank maintenance error — and it clears itself the moment the site is back.
Go Live cutover toolkit
Moving to a new server without changing your domain? A live “where does DNS point” check and a step-by-step cutover checklist take you from staged copy to live site — and tell you the moment DNS lands.
No lockouts, ever
Every migrated account and password arrives exactly as it was on the source — never modified. Your own admin logins on the destination are kept working too, and stale login-lockout state from the source site is cleared automatically.
Scheduled backups
Automatic daily, weekly, or monthly backups of your database and files as ZIP or TAR.GZ archives, with local and remote retention handled for you — and a cache-proof job engine that keeps running even when WP-Cron is blocked.
Offsite remote storage
Stream backups to SFTP or Nextcloud / WebDAV. Credentials are encrypted at rest, and SFTP verifies the server host key before anything is sent.
One-click restore
Restore a full site or just the database from any archive, with an automatic pre-restore rollback, cross-host table-prefix remapping, and serialization-safe URL search-and-replace.
LocalWP & licensing
LocalWP-compatible export packages for clean local development, managed by the EECONS License Manager — licensed sites update through the normal WordPress updater.

How a live migration works ⚡
- Install the plugin on both sites and activate your license on the site that runs backups.
- Pair them — copy one site’s Connection Key into the other under Backup Studio → Migration.
- Choose a direction — pull the other site into this one, or push this one over it. Behind-NAT sites just start the migration from their side.
- Watch it run — the source builds a fresh backup, the archive streams across signed and verified, and the destination restores it with URLs rewritten for its own address.
- Done — visitors saw a branded progress page, every account works, and your settings, license, and pairings on the destination survived.
In the pipeline 🚧
Where Backup Studio Pro is headed next — in development now, included with an active license when released.
- Dry-run migration preview — see what would change before anything runs
- Incremental transfers — repeat migrations move only what changed
- Relay usage dashboard — see your transfers at a glance
- Deeper login-guard coverage across more security plugins
Questions, answered
How does live migration work?
Install Backup Studio Pro on both sites and pair them with a Connection Key. Then pull or push: the source builds a fresh backup, the archive streams across in signed, checksummed, resumable chunks, and the destination restores it — table prefixes remapped and URLs rewritten for its own address. The whole run happens in the background with live progress.
Do both sites need to be publicly reachable?
No. The site that starts the migration makes every connection, so only the other side needs to be reachable — a LocalWP or office machine behind a router works with zero configuration. If neither site can reach the other, use a relay transfer: the sender gets a one-time code, the receiver enters it, and the archive passes through the EECONS relay over TLS — held at most 24 hours and deleted the moment it is delivered.
Will my users and passwords survive a migration?
Yes — this is guaranteed. Every account and password from the source site is migrated exactly as it is, never modified. The destination’s own admin accounts are re-created alongside them by default, so whoever runs the migration keeps their working login, and stale login-lockout state imported from the source is cleared so nobody starts out blocked.
What do visitors see during a migration or restore?
A branded “site migration in progress” page with a live progress bar and an estimated-time countdown — never a half-restored site. It refreshes automatically and lands visitors on the live site the moment the run completes.
Can I move to a new server without changing my domain?
Yes — that is what the Go Live toolkit is for. Migrate onto the staged server, preview it before the switch, then repoint DNS following the built-in checklist; a live DNS check tells you the moment the cutover lands.
What gets backed up, and where is it stored?
Your full WordPress database plus files — uploads, themes, plugins and more — packaged as portable ZIP or TAR.GZ archives, stored locally in a protected directory and offsite over host-key-verified SFTP or Nextcloud / WebDAV with credentials encrypted at rest.
How many sites can I use one license on?
As many as you manage. A Backup Studio Pro license key is not locked to a single site — activate it on every WordPress install you run, including staging and local development copies.
What if my license lapses?
Restoring and downloading existing backups always work — recovery is never license-gated. A valid license is required only to run new backups, use relay transfers, and receive updates.
